OpenAI launched a ChatGPT iPhone application on 18th May. CTO of OpenAI Mira Murati said that an Android version of ChatGPT is coming soon.
The application is the first official mobile app for ChatGPT.
OpenAI says, “The app can answer questions such as, “what are unique custom birthday gifts ideas for my coffee-loving mom” or explain how to politely decline an invite to a concert.”
OpenAI said that the ChatGPT application also accepts voice input.
ChatGPT was earlier available online on OpenAI’s website and through an application interface used to build third-party applications. Apple’s Application Store has earlier hosted several applications that use OpenAI’s software, but none of them were from OpenAI itself.
The application is free, although it includes a $20 per month in-app purchase through Apple for ChatGPT Plus that offers additional features.
Murati said, “The app is only available in the U.S. for now.”
